Charity Pudding Club

Wendy from Inside Out Chef hosted her Charity Pudding Club for ‘Its Good 2 Give’ on Sunday and a number of the Edinburgh Bakers went along to do what they do best – eat for charity! In total there were 18 pudding lovers ready to enjoy 5 courses of delicious desserts.

But before we started eating we enjoyed a refreshing Strawberry Mojito from Reeltime Bars while chatting to our fellow diners.  Wendy gave a welcome speech and then introduced Lynne from Its Good 2 Give who talked a little about the work of the Charity that we were there to support.

Then it was onto the Puddings! This was the point where the room descended from loud chatter to silence as we all tucked in followed by oohhhs and aaahhhs!  We started of with a trio of desserts – a Chocolate Pot, A Spiced Red Wine Jelly and a Buttermilk panna cotta with Roasted Strawberry’s

Then we moved onto Wendy’s legendary Pavlova piled high with guilt free fruit!

Our third course was an Apple Crumble with Custard

Followed by a Duo of Cheesecakes – one vanilla topped with orange and the other chocolate chip

And for finale – a make your own Sundae Bar, we had 3 flavours of ice cream – Mint Choc Chip, Strawberry and Madagascan Vanilla along with lots of different toppings so you could go wild an unleash your inner child – which a lot of us did!

It was a great afternoon, a roaring success and all for a great cause.  Mackies kindly donated all the ingredients used by Wendy for the event, and Reeltime Bars donated the Cocktail.  A big thanks to Wendy for welcoming us into our home, providing us with great food and enjoyable afternoon, all while raising money for a great local charity! In total Wendy raised a whopping £1800 for Its Good 2 Give!

  1. Wendy and her family (husband Ian, mum Linda and son Ross) did us proud last weekend – what a huge amount of work she undertook to put on that amazing 5 course pudding event. I was so pleased to be able to be at the event and even inhaling the smells of those wonderful puds was enough for me!
Well done Wendy and thanks also to Mackies and Reeltime bars for sponsorship.
It’s Good 2 Give has benefitted to the tune of almost £2000 which is fantastic.
