The Year of the Edinburgh Bakers
Happy New Year! We do hope you all had some great slices of cake over the festive period and are ready to join us for some (or all) of our 2015 events. Our cake club turns five in April and of course, there will be cake to celebrate.
Wednesday 4th February at The Haven.
This event is NOW FULL. All the places were snapped up within 24 hours. We look forward to welcoming many new faces to this event.
NEW EVENT #1
Thursday 19th March – Charity event at Camera Obscura
Edinburgh’s Camera Obscura and World of Illusions is one of the city’s leading tourist attractions and we are simply delighted to announce that we will be having our own charity event within this popular venue.
Opening in the evening of 19th March just for us, you can explore the six floors of interactive hands-on fun and have some tea and cake whilst doing so! The event will begin at 6.30pm and last for approximately two hours.
All monies from ticket sales will be going to It’s Good 2 Give, the children’s cancer charity that we support. Camera Obscura have kindly waived all venue hire fees so that we can raise more money, so a big round of applause for them!
If you live in Edinburgh and have been meaning to go to Camera Obscura for ages, but never quite got round to it, now’s your chance. You will have the added bonus of cake.
Bring your friends, bring your family and children are positively encouraged. You can walk though the mirror maze, take your photo in the magical Ames room, play with all the exhibits or simply enjoy the view of Edinburgh at night from the roof.
We do need bakers to step forward and donate a cake to make this event a success and in return, you will be rewarded with a free entry into our prize draw (normally £5 per entry). With amazing prizes such as a Borders Biscuit hamper (it’s huge), a signed Sara Sheridan book, VIP tickets to Foodies Festival and many others, you’re going to want your name going into the hat. Only people attending the event can enter this draw.
The ticket price includes entry to Camera Obscura (normally £13.95 for adults), three large slices of cake (two for children) and unlimited tea and coffee. If you don’t think you’ll eat three slices on the night, you can bring a box to take your cake home with you.
Ticket prices to our Camera Obscura event are as follows:
£15 per adult – includes entry, cake and tea/coffee
£11 per child – includes entry, cake and tea/coffee
£15 per baker – includes entry, cake, tea/coffee and an entry to the raffle (worth £5).
There will only be fellow cake lovers at this private event and remember every penny raised is going to It’s Good 2 Give with the added bonus of tea and cake!

There are sixty places available and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, although we will need to balance the number of bakers and those attending to eat the cake.

Wednesday 22nd April – Our Fifth Birthday Party!
An evening of prosecco, tea and cake at the Virgin Money lounge at St Andrew Square. Full details will be released in a few weeks, but mark the date in your diary and you can request your space now to guarantee your spot at the party. £13 per person, or two tickets for £25.
Listen to real piano music, allow our magician Elliot Bibby to amaze you with one of his tricks as he works the room and take part in an extra special birthday raffle which includes a champagne hamper and an incredible money-can’t-buy prize. Again, we will need bakers for this event to help make it a success. In reward for bringing a cake, you will be entered into the prize draw automatically (normally £5 per entry). Thanks!
